2019 ISBPA Annual Fall Meeting

 

The Association's Annual Fall Meeting
was held Nov. 17-18 at Hotel Arista in Naperville

ISBPA's Anuual General Membership Meeting featured several guest presenters
including IBC Youth Managing Director Gary Brown

and featuring BPAA Executive Director Fran DeSocio, who provided an industry and BPAA update.



Arena Lanes proprietor Bill Bard accepts ISBPA's most prestigous award, the Louis P. Petersen Award for his service to the Sport and Industry at the National, State & Local levels - on left, accepting congratulations from previous Petersen honorees Bob Crawford and John Sommer.  Bill currently serves as an ISBPA Director and is a Past Presdient of the Chicagoland BPA.  On right photo, Bill is flanked by (l-r)  son-in-law Daryl Durano and daughter Melissa Bard-Durano and ISBPA Awards Chairman and previous Petersen Award recipent Jim Stubler.

 A well-attended session moderated by ISBPA members included discussion/tips to help a member center’s social media business strategies, including the value of (and how to influence) favorable customer reviews of your business, presented by Orland Bowl proprietor Mike Halleran and manager Andrew Holmes (right).
 

Pictured at left, Palos Lanes' Kyle Cermak spoke on the smart use of customer data, center website design ideas and social media integrated platforms that can be easily implemented by centers.




 

 

Left Photo: Western Bowling Proprietor Insurance CEO Cameron Linder kicked of ISBPA's Education Session with a presenatation called When Bowling Balls Become Blunt Force Objects... attendees learned what their legal duties are in the event of a violent assault and what center staff should and should not do when violence breaks out.

Fresh off his popular BowlExpo seminar, Sequoia Lanes' Tim Voss provided an enlightening presentation on how ISBPA members can create a full Renaissance in league bowling. The session provided a “Grass Roots” marketing approach that fits the spending abilities of every bowling center and which any bowling proprietor can implement.
